Week #2

Hola Mi Familia!

I'm going to try and type everything i want to in 25 min! this thing has a count down so i'm going to hurry! if not i'll just write a letter. Okay so lets see, Sunday was great! I made it past sunday and its already almost that time again! I played the piano in sacrament meeting! And im thinking i probably will be every week. haha but thats fine cause then i most likely don't have to speak! Sister Mary Cook from the yw pres. came for relief society and spoke to all the sister missionaries! it was awesome! I've always known God loved me and i was his child cause thats what i grew up knowing but on sunday in that meeting i had an overwhelming feeling of love from Heavenly Father and the most powerful knowledge that i know He lives and is real and loves me and knows me perfectly and watches over me. This week was very comforting...the sum up of it was that God wouldn't call us to be his missionaries if he knew we couldn't do it or knew we couldn't learn the language. It gave me a lot of hope and desire to try harder every day! The spanish is still coming slowly...haha i mess up words so much but its funny. Like in our lesson with Adriana (our new teacher now) she was talking about how she sins and i was saying its okay if you sin because you can repent and sin in spanish is pecado...i kept saying pescado which is fish. But i didn't realize until after! haha and we got her to commit to be baptized! It felt so real, I felt the spirit so strong and i cried it felt so real. It was awesome! She is our new teacher now and i love her! she is so cute! In class yesterday we were practicing translating and what not and i was just saying the translation out loud with everyone and she says, ah hermana you should be a translator for general conference! you are going to be one i know it! haha it made me feel good. :) she says we were doing really well for only being here a week which is good to hear since i think we sound terrible! ha but me and sister watts fill in for each other, we are really good for each other! On Tuesday nights we have a devotional. Elder Ballard came!! It was so cool! Its so amazing how strong his testimony is of Christ. I loved it! So my day here goes kinda like this....eat, class, gym, study, eat, class, study, study, class, eat, study, sleep for 7 hours. It makes me tired but me and sister watts always tell each other were not because it makes us all not fun. and we also laugh at the dumbest things together, its great! She is seriously becoming my best friend, i thank heavenly father every day. She is so sweet and understands me and listens to all my emotions! Also, there are six of us in a room and four out of the six of us have boyfriends. so that is really nice to have in common! haha every ones story is so different! I love all of them. Since i've been at the MTC i have realized how much i pray! Like all day...and at night i pray for like ten minutes or longer! i love talking to my heavenly father, he is always there and always comforts me when i need it!

i wish i could share everything i've learned but we can do that another day! :) i love you all so much! be happy for me! i'm okay here, its getting better! i miss you guys! love you lots.

Last post before i'm a missionary!

I still can't believe i'm going on a mission! I can't do anything to make it feel real. Its going to hit me hard!  My farewell talk was on Sunday. I literally woke up shaking and nervous, but it helped that Ali was sitting right by my side and giving her sweet talk with me. I had a ton of family there, it was so good to see them all there! I love them, they are so supportive. I couldn't do it without them! I'm happy about how my talk went, I didn't even cry until half way through which is big points for me. I'm going to miss my family so much!!! But I can't wait to bless them and the families i teach in New York. I'm also going to miss Hunter more than ever. I can't even comprehend this, i've seen or talked to him every day for 3 years. Its going to be a tough adjustment but all i can think about is how worth it, it will be when we get home and how much we will grow. I'm not gonna lie, i will probably go some small withdrawals without him...he's my best friend and i love him more than anything. I'm most excited to serve the Lord and the Spanish people of New York. I can't wait to learn to love them and teach them about the gospel and enlighten their lives. I couldn't feel more blessed to think about the person i will become. I want to be the best i can and share my testimony and have it grow.

See you all in 18 months! My little sister Ali will be posting my letters. Adios!

is this real life?

holy, only three more weeks until i'm entering those MTC doors. that means i'm no longer counting months, i'm counting DAYS!! it still doesn't feel real to me so i thought maybe talking about it would help.

it didn't help.
